USS ATR-47

Underway on 27 October 1943.
This tug was to have been transferred to Britain as HMRT Justice but was instead allocated to the U.S. She became USS ATA-125 on 15 May 1944.

Photographed at sea near Norfolk, Va., on 11 March 1944 by a blimp based in Weeksville, North Carolina. She became USS ATA-170 on 15 May 1944.

This tug, previously designated HMRT Patroclus (BAT-2) and USS Maricopa (AT-146), became USS ATA-146 on 15 May 1944.

During an inclining experiment at the Norfolk Navy Yard on 23 February 1945. Some weights for the inclining experiment are on deck aft.
To the left is the floating derrick YD-71 working on an unidentified old destroyer, in the distance is USS Pegasus (AK-48), and ahead of the tug is USS LSM-158 or possibly USS LSM-198.
