USS Plymouth (ID # 3308), 1918-1919.
Originally, and later, S.S. Plymouth (American Collier, 1915).

Plymouth, a 5266 gross ton (10,750 tons displacement) collier, was built at Camden, New Jersey, in 1915. She was commissioned in the Navy at New York as USS Plymouth (ID # 3308) on 2 August 1918 and employed as a freighter. Shortly after commissioning, the ship loaded general cargo at Baltimore, Maryland, and sailed from Norfolk, Virginia in a convoy bound for Brest, France. Returning to New York in October, Plymouth delivered another load of general cargo to St. Nazaire, France, in December. She arrived at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in January 1919 and soon moved to New York. USS Plymouth was decommissioned there on 25 February 1919 and transferred to the U.S. Shipping Board for simultaneous return to her owners, the American-Italian Steamship Company of New York City. Following long commercial service she was scrapped at Wilmington, Delaware in 1948.
