Belliqueuse (Ironclad corvette, wood hull) during a visit to Hobson's Bay, Melbourne, Australia, between 25 November and 3 December 1870. Her main battery consisted of four 194mm and four 164.7mm guns in an armored broadside battery and one 164.7mm gun on deck at each end of the ship. Bayard (2nd rank ironclad) on the ways shortly before launching. She is in an extension of the Brest dockyard upriver from the main arsenal that was fortified in 1777.
