Note: Unlike his list of steel ships, which is arranged by EFC design, McKellar's list of wood ships is arranged alphabetically by shipbuilders. The various designs are thus scattered throughout the list. With the exception of EFC Design 1001, which was built by most of the shipyards in the list, the builders of each design are identified here to assist in locating the ships in McKellar's list. The notes are by Shipscribe.

EFC Design 1113: Design 1001 hulls converted to 3500 ton barges.
This designation applied only to three Ferris hulls: EFC 278, 393, and 396. The many other Ferris barge conversions that retained the Design 1001 designation are also illustrated on this page.

EFC Design 1114: Design 1003 hulls converted to 3500 ton barges.
This designation applied to three Hough hulls: EFC 431, 435, and 454. Two other Hough hulls, EFC 667 and 668, were ordered converted but were instead laid up incomplete as Design 1003 barges.

EFC Design 1115: Design 1008 hulls converted to 3650 ton barges.
This designation applied to three Allen hulls: EFC 2038, 2188, and 2189, of which the last was cancelled.

EFC Design 1116: 4100 ton wood freighter, revised Grays Harbor (Ward) type (EFC 2677-84).
Built by Grays Harbor Motorship Co.

EFC Design 1129: 3500 ton wood barge, Crosby type (EFC 2578).
