Notes: Following negotiations with the Japanese in March and April 1918, the EFC contracted on 20 May 1918 with the Nitta Kisen Co., Osaka, Japan, for one 5500-ton type "B" Design 1123 ship, EFC Hull 2019 and Yard No. 10.

Specifications: Design 1123 (S.S. Eastern Temple, EFC Hull 2019): Steel Cargo. Deadweight tons: 5500 designed, 5544 actual. Dimensions: 316' length pp x 45.7' beam mld. x 28.8' depth mld., 23.75' draft loaded. Propulsion: 1 screw, 1 triple expansion engine, 2 Scotch boilers, 2500 IHP, 10.5 kts. Configuration: 3-island, 1 deck, 4 holds, 4 hatches.
