This plan represented a preliminary design for the Nevada (Battleship # 36) class battleships.
- S-584-008: Untitled Drawing Showing Estimates of Battleship Stability under Selected Damage Conditions. Plan is undated but probably dates from about 1911 and shows what appears to be a Delaware (Battleship # 28) class battleship. The drawing shows the extent of change in trim resulting from flooding of underwater spaces forward under different circumstances.

- S-584-023: "Proposed B. S. [Battleship] 38". Plan dated 24 August 1912 for a 31,400 ton ship with a main battery of twelve 14-inch guns in four triple turrets and a maximum speed of 21 knots. This plan represented a near final design for the Pennsylvania (Battleship # 38) class battleships.
- S-584-024: Preliminary Design Plan for a Battle Cruiser - October 12, 1912. Drawing of a 42,250 ton ship with a main battery of eight 14-inch guns in four twin turrets and a maximum speed of 29 knots. This design was considered for inclusion in the Fiscal Year 1914 building program but dropped in favor of a battleship.
- S-584-025: Proposed Destroyer - Oct. 15. 1912. Drawing of a 2,160 ton ship with a main battery of four 4-inch guns and a maximum speed of 35 knots. This concept was abandoned in favor of continued construction of ships having a displacement of about 1,000 tons.
- S-584-026: Proposed Destroyer - Jan. 14, 1913. Drawing of a 1,090 ton ship with a main battery of four 4-inch guns and a maximum speed of 29.5 knots. This plan represents the design chosen for the O'Brien (Destroyer # 51) class.
- S-584-027: Proposed Battleship. Plan dated 14 February 1913 for a 50,000 ton ship with a main battery of eight 16-inch guns in four twin turrets and a maximum speed of 25 knots. This plan represented a preliminary design for a fast battleship armed with 16-in. guns, a design not selected for construction.
- S-584-028: Battleships "B.S. 34 & 35". Plan dated 1 April 1913, representing the final design selected for the New York (Battleship # 34) class battleships.
- S-584-029: Proposed Battleship. Plan dated 16 April 1913 for a 47,000 ton ship with a main battery of twelve 14-inch guns in four triple turrets and a maximum speed of 25 knots. This plan represented a preliminary design for a fast battleship armed with 14-in. guns, a design not selected for construction.
- S-584-030: Proposed Battleship. Plan dated 17 May 1913 for a 36,500 ton ship with a main battery of twelve 14-inch guns in four triple turrets and a maximum speed of 22 knots. This plan represented a preliminary design for a battleship design concept not selected for construction.

This plan represented a preliminary design for the New Mexico (Battleship # 40) class battleships, apparently a variant of the design with 6-inch secondary battery guns (see Photo # S-584-036) further modified by having heavier armor.
- S-584-038: "Proposed Battleship # 40". Plan dated 3 November 1913 for a 29,500 ton ship with a main battery of eight 14-inch guns and a maximum speed of 21 knots. This plan represented a preliminary design for the New Mexico (Battleship # 40) class battleships, apparently a modified version of the Pennsylvania (Battleship # 38, see Photo # S-584-041) with reduced main armament.
- S-584-039: "Proposed Battleship # 40". Plan dated 10 November 1913 for a 36,000 ton ship with a main battery of twelve 14-inch guns in independent sleeves and a maximum speed of 21 knots. This plan represented a preliminary design for the New Mexico (Battleship # 40) class battleships, apparently a modified version of the Pennsylvania (Battleship # 38, see Photo # S-584-041) with thicker armor protection and a stronger secondary gun battery.

Preliminary Design No.101 dated 19 November 1913 for a 33,200 ton ship with a main battery of twelve 14-inch guns in independent sleeves and a maximum speed of 21 knots. This plan represented a preliminary design for the New Mexico (Battleship # 40) class battleships, apparently a modified version of the Pennsylvania (Battleship # 38, see Photo # S-584-041) with increased armor protection.
- S-584-041: Battleship Pennsylvania (Battleship # 38). Preliminary Design No.102 dated 21 November 1913 for a 31,400 ton ship with a main battery of twelve 14-inch guns in four triple turrets and a maximum speed of 21 knots. This plan represented the final design selected for the Pennsylvania (Battleship # 38) class battleships and is very similar to the preceding drawing for this ship (Photo # S-584-023).

Preliminary Design No.103 dated 13 December 1913 for a 33,700 ton ship with a main battery of twelve 14-inch guns in six twin turrets and a maximum speed of 21 knots. This plan represented a preliminary design for the New Mexico (Battleship # 40) class battleships, apparently a modified version of the Pennsylvania (Battleship # 38, see Photo # S-584-041) with increased armor protection.
- S-584-043: "Proposed Battleship # 40". Preliminary Design No.104 dated 8 January 1914 for a 32,400 ton ship with a main battery of twelve 14-inch guns and a maximum speed of 21 knots. This plan represented a preliminary design for the New Mexico (Battleship # 40) class battleships, apparently a modified version of the Pennsylvania (Battleship # 38, see Photo # S-584-041) with the main battery turret guns in three separate, independent sleeves, rather than in one common sleeve elevated and depressed together.

This plan represented the final design selected for construction of the New Mexico (Battleship # 40) class battleships.

This plan represented a preliminary design of a battleship for construction in Fiscal Year 1916 that became the Tennessee (Battleship # 43) class battleships.

This plan represented a preliminary design of a battleship for construction in Fiscal Year 1916 that became the Tennessee (Battleship # 43) class battleships.

- S-584-074: Undated Design Plan for Transport # 1. Preliminary Design No.136 for a transport displacing 10,000 tons with a main battery of eight 5-inch guns. The Henderson (Transport # 1) was built to this design.
- S-584-075: "Aero. [Aeroplane] Wrecking Derrick" - Undated. Preliminary Design No.137 for a 90 ton vessel with no armament and a speed of 6 knots. Seaplane Wrecking Derrick #1, designated as YSD-1 in 1920, was built to this design in 1916.
