"1750 Ton Destroyer Leader ... June 11, 1918"
Outline inboard profile drawing of a preliminary design for a
large destroyer leader that was under consideration during mid-1918.
This particular concept was in the middle in size of three concepts
studied. The smallest variant (for which no drawings were included
in the 1911-1925 "Spring Styles Book") was 325 feet
long and displaced 1525 tons. The 1750-ton variant seen here
would have had an enlarged propulsion plant to attain 35 knots
speed, forcing an increase in length to 335 feet and increasing
displacement to 1750 tons. None of these designs were adopted
for construction.
Note: The original document was ink on linen (black on
white).
The original plan is in the 1911-1925 "Spring Styles Book".
