USS Apache (1898-1925)

Photographed in December 1900.
Formely a wrecking steamer, this vessel had booms and cargo holds for handling salvage equipment.

Naval Magazine, Iona Island

Seen on a post card dated 1907. The facility was located on the Hudson River opposite Peekskill, N.Y.
USS Apache was stationed here from 1900 to 1920, probably serving as an ammunition transport, and the photo may show her at the pier.
