USS Saluda (IX-87)

Departing San Diego Harbor on 27 August 1955.

Point Loma is in the background. Her IX number is on her bow.

Underway on 6 October 1964.
She was used for ocean research by the Naval Electronics Laboratory but also participated in sailing races off the California coast.

Yacht Roland von Bremen

Arriving at Cuxhaven, Germany, after winning the Bermuda to Cuxhaven race that was part of the 1936 Olympic Games.
She was brought to the United States in 1938 and became USS Wimbee (IX-88) in 1942.
