The U.S. Army Transport Mount Vernon was originally the 19,503 gross ton passenger liner Kronprinzessin Cecilie, built at Stettin, Germany, in 1906. Beginning in mid-1917 she operated as USS Mount Vernon and was transferred to the War Department upon decommissioning in September 1919. She remained in Army service into the early 1920s and was then returned to civilian custody and laid up. Mount Vernon was scrapped in 1940.
