US Army FS 343 (later USNS AKL 34)

Photographed by her builder, the Kewaunee Shipbuilding and Engineering Corp. of Kewaunee, Wisc., on trials in Lake Michigan while still called a Freight and Passenger Vessel (FP). The next ship, FP/FS 344, became the ill-fated USS Pueblo (AGER 2). From a set of three albums called "Kewaunee ships of war" held by the Kewaunee Public Library and posted under its Kewaunee Memory Project. NH 74691 at NHHC is a copy of this photo.
