German Dithmarschen
Probably photographed in peacetime in 1938 or 1939. She was the first of a class that included Westerwald (later Nordmark, later HMS Bulawayo), Ermland, and the diesel-propelled Altmark (later Uckermark) and Franken.

USS Conecuh (AOR 110)
Photographed by NSY Philadelphia on 5 May 1953 after her AOR conversion there. The goalpost mast aft of the bridge house was one of the most visible additions in this conversion, along with the two quadruple 40mm quadruple mounts at the ends of the ship.

An annotated view of the ship's communications antennas taken by NSY Philadelphia in May 1953. It also shows the bridge face and the refueling rig on the foremast. Note the raised working deck area around the foremast and the catwalks running from it down each side to the bridge house.

There appears to be a raised working deck level around both the goalpost mast and the after mast with catwalks connecting them to the bridge house.
