USS Canisteo (AO-99)

Floating in the new midsection on 8 June 1968 to join to the old stern section during her "jumbo" conversion at the Bethlehem Steel Co., Baltimore Yards. The new midship house is on the new midsection, the old one was left on the old midsection

Floating in the new midsection on 16 July 1968 to join to the old bow section during her "jumbo" conversion at the Bethlehem Steel Co., Baltimore Yards.

USS Caloosahatchee (AO-98)

The fully assembled ship undocking on 6 August 1968 during her "jumbo" conversion at the Bethlehem Steel Co., Baltimore Yards. In a series of dockings and undockings, the stern was detached from the old ship on 4 June 1968 and joined to the new midbody on 8 June, then the bow was detached from the old midbody on 16 July and joined to the new ship on the same day.

Operating together on 9 February 1989 off the coast of Virgina. A fueling hose is over between the ships aft and a light line is over aft of the ships' bridges.
