USNS Chattahoochee (T-AOG 82)

With the MSC seal on the stack under the MSC tricolor stack markings (grey over blue over yellow). The seal began to appear on other MSC ships in around 1973, suggesting that this photo dates from her period of service in 1982-1984.

MV Alatna (ex T-AOG 81)

Shown in 1985 or later wearing the tricolor stack markings for the MARAD Ready Reserve Force (red over white over blue) instead of those for MSC ships. The photo, first posted on the MSC website in 1999, may have been taken during the sea trials that she ran on 27-28 September 1997, although such trials had probably been run periodically since 1985.

  MV Alatna (ex T-AOG 81) after 1985
MV Chattahoochee (ex T-AOG 82)

Shown in 1985 or later with markings as Alatna, above. The photo may have been taken during the sea trials that she ran on 26-28 March 1997 although there were probably earlier opportunities. The inscriptions on her stern no longer bear the designation U.S. Naval Ship but instead designate a home port, indicating her civilian status while in the RRF.
