Stern salvaged from Potomac (T-AO 150) in drydock at the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. on 10 February 1964 before cutting off the destroyed section.

SS Shenandoah
Joining the rebuilt stern and newly-built forward section in drydock at the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. on 23 October 1964. The after superstructure has been expanded to include the contents of the old midships house. Old stack retained.

After being bareboat chartered by Keystone to MSTS on 11 Dec 1964 and before being renamed Potomac on 14 January 1976. As a chartered ship she has no MSTS markings.

USNS Potomac (T-AO 181)
During a 12-hour consolidation with USS Kalamazoo (AOR 6) on 18 May 1978. She has a black upper hull, gray and white upperworks, and the MSC seal on her stack.
