USS IX 306 (IX 306)
In later service on the Navy's AUTEC (Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center) range with an upgraded crane forward to handle items over the side, including targets simulating opposing submarines that were to be engaged by participating submarines and then recovered. The new crane displaced her original cargo mast but she probably retained her torpedo tube to starboard.
