USS President Lincoln (1917-1918)
Bronze plaque dedicated to the memory of those lost when the
ship was sunk by the German submarine U-90 on 31 May 1918.
Possibly photographed when it was erected by the USS President
Lincoln Club on 31 May 1921.
Though the plaque was later exhibited in the Main Navy Building,
on Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C., the brickwork and
building trim visible in this photograph does not appear to be
in that location.
