USS Regulus (AF 57)

Photographed by the Mare Island Naval Shipyard on 8 December 1955 showing the after pair of 3"/50 gun mounts that were part of her full conversion to a fleet underway replenishment ship. These were later removed to make way for a helicopter deck.

Photographed by the Mare Island Naval Shipyard on 8 December 1955 after her full conversion to a fleet underway replenishment ship. She carries four twin 3"/50 gun mounts, all on the centerline as in AE 21-22.

Alongside USS Philippine Sea (CVS 47) on 2 April 1958 during the carrier's last 7th Fleet deployment. Note the forward pair of 3"/50 twin mounts on the centerline.

Aground with her back broken on Kau Yi Chau Island at Hong Kong on 10 September 1971 after being driven ashore there in a typhoon. Her decommissioning ceremony is taking place on her helicopter deck.
