Norwegian Tyr (MMC 2)

The ceremony on 1 October 1959 at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, South Carolina, in which Tyr and her sister Gor (stern at extreme right) were transferred to the Norwegian Navy following conversion to coastal minelayers.

Photographed by Naval Air Station, Norfolk, Virginia, on 6 March 1961 after her transfer to Norway, which took place at Charleston, S.C., in January 1961. Note the four mine rails with their doors in the stern with a single depth charge rack suspended above them.
